A couple years ago, I was asking God to show me strategies or methods which would help us make disciples. It was then that I heard about the Life Transformation Trios by Neal Cole. It is a very simple, yet effective method.
Groups of 2 or 3 people get together once a week for an hour or so to do three things. First, they go through a list of 11 accountability questions (see below). Second, everyone in the group reads the same 25 to 30 chapters out of the Bible. The focus is hearing God's voice through the Bible reading. When one person in the group does not complete all the reading, then everyone gets to reread that portion out of the Bible the next week. Again, this is not a punishment, but is simply seen as God's way to say he still wants to speak to us through this book of the Bible.
The third thing we do is pray that friends or families can come to know Christ. The reason I am so excited about this system is because it really works and it has been an incredible help for my personal spiritual growth.
I started doing this with just one guy for four months. Then we had another guy join us for two more months. After one year of doing this, there were over 45 people throughout Amsterdam who were a part of a transformation trio. When a group has a 4th person, then they are ready to multiply. Over the last two years, I have seen these group multiply all over the place. New groups have started all over the world. Yet the greatest thing has been the depth of relationships and scripture reading that I have enjoyed following this method. It really is life changing and as simple as a book mark which I keep in my Bible. If you would like to try this method out, feel free to copy all the questions and information at the bottom of this page and find one or two friends to start your own life transformation trio.

Life Transformation Groups- Character Conversations Questions

2. Have you been exposed to sexually alluring material or allowed your mind to entertain inappropriate sexual thought about another this week?
3. Have you lacked integrity in your financial dealings or coveted something that does not belong to you?
4. Have you been honouring, understanding, and generous in your important relationships this week?
5. Have you damaged another person by your words either behind their back or face-to-face?
6. Have you given in to an addictive behaviour this past week? Explain.
7. Have you continued to remain angry toward another?
8. Have you secretly wished for another’s misfortune so that you might excel?

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed.” -- James 5:l6
Strategic Prayer Focus-Each of you in the group is to identify two or three whom you feel led to pray for their salvation. List the names of all those identified in the group on each card so that all of you pray for each of the people weekly. We recommend that you keep this in your Bible as a bookmark for your daily reading so that each time you open your Bible you are reminded to pray for these people.
